News mentions
Second year head coach Garrett Estrin guided his team to a 7-10-4 overall record and a 2-6-2 conference record. As a reward for their fifth place finish, the team was bestowed with three All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference honors.
COD (7-7-3; 2-3-1) played their best 90 minutes of soccer against one of the best teams in the nation, as they held a one goal lead until the final 90 seconds, still salvaging a hard fought tie against the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines (15-1-1; 5-0-1), 1-1.
COD (7-7-2) played to a shooting match tie, as both teams combined for over 50 total shots and almost 30 shots on goal, but only two of those shots found the back of the net, pulling a draw out of the El Cajon Grossmont Griffins (6-7-1), 1-1.
COD (7-7-1, 6-4) got back to level on the season with the team leader in goals scored grabbing two more and the defense collecting their fourth shutout of the season, besting the Imperial Valley Arabs (0-11, 0-10), 6-0.
COD (6-7-1; 5-4) received huge production from three different offensive players as all three had two goals each in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference win over the El Cajon Cuyamaca Coyotes (2-12; 2-5), 8-1.
COD (5-7-1, 3-4) put together another solid performance and notching a huge Conference road victory by pushing past the Chula Vista Southwestern Jaguars (3-8-1, 1-4), 3-1.
COD (4-7-1; 3-4) rolled into halftime tied at 0-0 and then the second half started as the home side unleashed their offense crushing the San Diego City Knights (1-11; 1-5), 5-0.
Two College of the Desert women's soccer players, sophomore midfielder Sydney Hannibal (La Quinta H.S.) and sophomore goal keeper Britney Vargas (La Quinta H.S.), were recently named to the 2016 CCCAA Academic All-State Team.
Palm Desert - College of the Desert Lady Roadrunners secured victory number 3 on the season with an early goal within the first 5 minutes of half number one. Cynthia Hernandez chipped a ball from 25 yards away to beat the Palomar Goalkeeper to the far post.
Palm Desert - College of the Desert Women's Soccer hosted a Miramar team that was 2-1 in league and trying to position themselves for a run to the top of the conference standing. Desert wanted to even their conference record as the first half is winding down.
San Jacinto - At halftime, the Roadrunners found themselves right where they wanted to be. Britney Vargas was stellar in net for Desert stopping everything that came her way.
Palm Desert - Coach Garrett Estrin was excited with his teams start in their first home conference match of the season against Mira Costa College.
San Bernardino - COD drops it's 1st ever Pacific Coast Athletic Conference contest to San Bernardino Valley College 6-0, to take the Roadrunners record to 1-4-1 & 0-1 in PCAC.
Palm Desert - (Article from The Desert Sun) Vanessa Caudillo recorded a hat trick, College of the Desert recorded a shutout and the Roadrunners secured their first win of the season in girls’ soccer, with a 9-0 win over El Camino-Compton Center Friday evening at Boone Field in Palm Desert.
San Luis Obispo - The Roadrunners battled to a 2-2 draw on the road at Cuesta College.
