COD Women’s Soccer: Vargas & Hannibal Named CCCAA Academic All-State
Two College of the Desert women's soccer players, sophomore midfielder Sydney Hannibal (La Quinta H.S.) and sophomore goal keeper Britney Vargas (La Quinta H.S.), were recently named to the 2016 CCCAA Academic All-State Team.
Two College of the Desert women's soccer players, sophomore midfielder Sydney Hannibal (La Quinta H.S.) and sophomore goal keeper Britney Vargas (La Quinta H.S.), were recently named to the 2016 CCCAA Academic All-State Team.
Vargas has been fantastic in net for the Roadrunners, grabbing two clean sheets on the season in wins over Palomar and Compton, in addition, she currently sits as a top three save maker in the state. Hannibal has participated in almost every game this season, snagging an assist in the 9-0 demolition at home against Compton.
Recipients of this honor must have completed at least one season of soccer, at least 24 units and have earned a 3.5 G.P.A. or higher. Vargas and Hannibal were two of only 32 women to receive the honor across the entire state.
