The College of the Desert women's volleyball team continues to make history. The rise comes on the heels of a dominant home sweep over Imperial Valley and a competitive showing at the Vaqueros Tri in Glendale, where Desert split its matches—falling to No. 6 Orange Coast in straight sets before sweeping Riverside City.
The momentum continued Wednesday night with another historic achievement: a 3–1 victory over College of the Canyons, the program's first-ever win against the Cougars. COD will look to keep climbing the rankings this weekend at the Jets Tri Tournament, where they are set to face No. 22 San Diego Miramar.
"This group has worked incredibly hard to put themselves in this position, and it's exciting to see our program reach new heights. To be ranked in the top 10 for the first time is a reflection of their commitment to getting better every day," said Head Coach Detlev Rothe.
The Roadrunners remain on the road until Friday, September 26, when they return to Palm Desert for a 5 p.m. matchup, hosting the El Camino Warriors of Torrance for the first time in program history.
