COD Women’s Volleyball wraps up the Wolverines, 3-1
COD (8-8; 1-2) dominated in the first set, then dropped a critical second set, only to claw back and win the match against the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines (2-13; 0-3), 3-1.

The Roadrunners won this match 25-11, 23-25, 25-17 and 26-24. Desert has struggled the past five matches, all on the road, falling in four of those five matches, but looks to turn their fortunes around with their next four straight matches at home and beginning with a solid victory over the Wolverines. The victory was their first of 2017 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference – North Division play.
Freshman setter Ashtyn Lyneis (Palm Springs H.S.) led the team with 21 assists, led the team with 15 digs and led the team with 16 kills and freshman outside hitter Baylie Dashner (La Quinta H.S.) led the team with 5 block assists and had 8 kills.
Sophomore middle blocker Marisol Ruiz (Thermal Desert Mirage) led the team with 7 service aces, had 1 solo block and had 4 block assists and freshman setter Brooke Topliff (Rancho Mirage H.S.) had 12 set assists, had 10 digs and had 5 service aces.
Freshman middle blocker Nicole Svoboda (La Quinta H.S.) led the team with 3 solo blocks, had 4 block assists, had 6 kills and had 5 service aces.
The next home game for COD is when they host the Palomar Comets, on Wednesday, October 18th, game starts at 5 p.m.
