COD Women’s Volleyball rolls past the Arabs, 3-1

COD (6-4) struggled in the first set and then rolled in the final three sets to take the match against the overwhelmed Imperial Valley Arabs (1-7), 3-1.

The Roadrunners won this match 19-25, 25-16, 25-17 and 25-14. Desert has won four straight matches, since starting the season 2-4 and will now travel to a very tough San Diego City (9-1) squad, then off to the Mt. San Antonio Quad, before opening Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play at Mt. San Jacinto on October 4th.

Freshman setter Ashtyn Lyneis (Palm Springs H.S.) led the team with 39 assists, led the team with 13 digs and had 7 kills and freshman outside hitter Baylie Dashner (La Quinta H.S.) led the team with 14 kills and had 2 service aces.

Sophomore middle blocker Marisol Ruiz (Thermal Desert Mirage) led the team with 4 service aces, had 3 block assists and had 10 kills and freshman middle blocker Nicole Svoboda (La Quinta H.S.) led the team with 3 solo blocks and led the team with 4 block assists, and had 7 kills.

Sophomore middle blocker Chrishayla Jackson (Desert Hot Springs H.S.) had 2 solo blocks and 3 block assists and sophomore outside hitter London Felder (Alta Loma H.S.) led the team with 13 digs.

The next home game for COD is when they host San Bernardino Valley, on Friday, October 13, match starts at 5 p.m.
