COD Women’s Volleyball fights hard in game against Eagles, 3-2
COD (6-13; 2-6) fought back from a 9-point deficit in set three to win the set, unfortunately that was not enough in 5 sets against the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (15-8; 5-3), 18-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-14 & 19-17.

The game was as fun for the players as it was for the fans, with the gym packed to honor the team's sophomores. It was "Sophomore Night" in the COD Gymnasium as they honored the six members of the 2016 sophomore class, each player had a huge role in each set. Putting their best effort forward winning set one, falling in extra's in set two, coming back huge in set three, showing the wear of their efforts in the earlier set and falling in set four and then taking the Eagles to the limit in the fifth and final set.
Sophomore outside hitter Savannah Sharp (Palm Desert H.S.) led the team with 20 kills and had 7 digs and sophomore libero Kaylie Edgar (Palm Springs H.S.) led the team with 41 digs and had 3 service aces.
Sophomore setter Angelica Sayo (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) led the team with 37 assists, had 11 digs, 2 assist blocks and 3 solo blocks and sophomore middle blocker Hannah LaLiberte (La Quinta H.S.) had 4 kills and had 5 digs.
Sophomore outside hitter Alyssa Cazares (Indio Shadow Hills) had 7 kills, 3 service aces and had 16 digs and freshman outside hitter Chrishayla Jackson (Desert Hot Springs H.S.) led the team with 4 solo blocks.
Sophomore defensive specialist Shay Mesa (Indio Shadow Hills) led the team with 5 service aces.
