Women's Volleyball Falls in 5 Set Thriller
Palm Desert - The women's volleyball team had their home debut tonight after four straight matches on the road. They welcomed in an East Los Angeles team that were looking for their second win in a row.
Palm Desert - The women's volleyball team had their home debut tonight after four straight matches on the road. They welcomed in an East Los Angeles team that were looking for their second win in a row. ELAC was able to do just that after a tough fought five set win over the Roadrunners. COD came out strong in the first set and built a big early lead and help on to win 25-23. After dropping the second set to ELAC the roadrunners found themselves down 20-14 in the third set. The ladies fought and took a 22-21 lead in the third, but they were unable to hold on. Desert dropped the third 25-22 to fall down 2 sets to 1. With their backs against the wall the Roadrunners fought to a 25-21 fourth set win to tie the match. The deciding fifth set went to ELAC 15-11. Outside hitter Alyssa Cazares turned in a strong performance on the evening recording 9 kills and 3 aces. Savannah Sharp added 12 kills and libero Kaylie Edgar had 34 digs and 4 aces. COD falls to 2-3 on the season. The ladies travel to Mt. SAC Tournament where they will face the host school and Riverside CC on Friday.
