Women's Volleyball Falls in 3-2 Heart-breaker to East LA
MONTEREY PARK, Calif. - College of the Desert women's volleyball suffered a tough 3-2 (22-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-18, 14-16) decision in a hard-fought match against East Los Angeles yesterday evening in Monterey Park.
After finding themselves down two sets after back-to-back close losses, the Lady Roadrunners battled back to tie the match at 2-2 heading into the deciding set. Freshman Angelica Sayo (Palm Desert, CA/Palm Desert HS) and sophomore Shavonne Lascelle (Palm Springs, CA/Palm Springs HS) led COD with 13 kills each, but their offensive prowess was not quite enough in a tight final set.

Freshman Kaylie Edgar (Palm Springs, CA/Palm Springs HS) was strong defensively, as she accumulated 35 digs.
