COD Women’s Soccer midfielder Ashley Murguia (Indio H.S.) and defender Alejandra Carrillo (Desert Hot Springs H.S.) have signed letters of intent with Kansas Wesleyan University.
Under sixth-year head coach Garrett Estrin, Desert finished the regular season with a record 14-6-1 overall and 9-2-1 in conference. The Roadrunners placed 2nd in the Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC).
COD (13-5; 8-1) grabbed another Conference win, taking down a difficult and persistent foe, the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles (5-9-3; 3-5-1), 2-0.
COD (12-5) made the most of their rescheduled contest with their former Conference foes, as six different players scored and the Roadrunners shot down the Miramar Jets of San Diego (1-12), 7-0.
COD (10-5; 6-1) got back on track with a strong win under difficult weather conditions, as the Roadrunners grabbed only their third win at Victorville in program history, defeating the Victor Valley Rams (1-5-2; 2-11-2), 3-0.
COD (8-3; 4-0) remained undefeated in Conference play, as they slayed a huge giant, a team they had not defeated in 17 years, perennial Conference Champ, the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines (5-5-1; 1-3), 2-1.
COD (6-3; 2-0) did well on all sides of the ball, as the Roadrunners grabbed their third clean sheet of the season and collected their first win over the Norco Mustangs (3-7-1; 1-2) in program history, 3-0.
COD (4-3) had a strong defense all game and all of their goals in the second half, as Ashley Murguia converted a penalty kick in the 84th minute to secure a road win at the Compton Tartars (2-1-1), 2-1.
COD (3-3) leveled their record on the 2021 season, as they used a game winning goal in the 75th minute off the foot of Ashley Murguia and a dominating defensive performance to knock off the Santa Ana Dons (2-2-1), 1-0.
COD (2-1) got out in front early and never looked back as Jasmine Castillo and Ashley Murguia both had a pair of goals before halftime, the Roadrunners would roll at home, past the Imperial Valley Arabs (0-3), 7-0.
COD (1-0) hosted their first game in 21 months and it did not disappoint, as sophomore forward Jasmine Castillo (Indio Shadow Hills) grabbed both goals for the Roadrunners, as Desert opened up 2021 with a win over the Los Angeles City Cubs (0-1), 2-1.
