COD Women’s Golf: Castro and Urquidez Post Season Lows in Chino
The College of the Desert Women’s Golf team continued their steady progress in Conference play this week, as freshman Daisy Castro (La Quinta H.S.) and sophomore Myah Urquidez (Banning H.S.) both recorded season-low scores at the sixth event of the year.

Competing at the par-72 El Prado Golf Club – Butterfield Course in Chino, where temperatures topped out at a sunny 77 degrees, the Roadrunners fielded three participants. The Orange Coast Pirates of Costa Mesa claimed the team title with a strong score of 302.
Castro led the way for COD, firing a season-best 85 to finish ninth overall. Urquidez followed with her own personal best, carding a 95, while freshman Jiiana Cordova (Rancho Mirage H.S.) secured her third-best round of the year with a 98 to close out the Roadrunners' efforts.
COD will return to competition for a two-day State Preview event beginning Sunday, October 12. The Roadrunners will travel to Central California to take on the River Course at the Alisal in Solvang, hosted by College of the Canyons.
