COD Women’s Golf qualifies for SoCal Finals, Liu named PCAC MVP

COD Women's Golf freshman Li Chi Liu (Palm Desert H.S.) collected the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Year award as the Roadrunners finished second at the Conference finals, hosted at the par-72 Sun Lakes Country Club in Banning.

As a team, Desert qualified to represent the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference at the Southern California Finals at Los Seranos Country Club on November 7th and 8th.

Liu was presented the prestigious award for having the best scoring average in the Conference, scoring an impressive 76.1 per round, besting her nearest opponent by just 1.8 strokes. She was also named to the All-Conference team along with teammate, sophomore Kabrea Rosas (La Quinta H.S.), who shot an impressive 81, which was good enough for third place on Wednesday's second round.

Sophomore Dominique Healey (Murrieta Mesa) shot a 104 for 14th place and also shooting a 104 was freshman Jessica Garday (Palm Desert H.S.) who improved 11 strokes over her performance in the first round on Monday.

Shooting a 109 was freshman Rhiannon Celaya (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) and freshman Alexa Perez (Indio Shadow Hills) shot a 118, besting her first round outing by eight strokes to wrap up the afternoon for the Roadrunners.
