Women's Golf Opens Orange Empire Conference With Win
SAN JANCINTO, Calif.- College of the Desert women's golf picked up where they left off last season in the Orange Empire Conference, as they convincingly won their opening match earlier this afternoon in San Jancinto.
Freshman Yi Chen Tsai (Taiwan / Oversea) shot the best round on the afternoon out of every team competing, as she produced a score of 77. Sophomore Fumika Matsumoto (Japan / Chiba-Ketzai) follwed just behind her with a 78, while freshman Kabrea Rosas (La Quinta, CA / La Quinta) added a score of 80.
Freshmen Dominique Healey (Murrieta, CA / Murrieta Mesa) and Nadia Herrera (La Quinta, CA / La Quinta) shot 96 and 97, respectively, as sophomore Briana Luna's (Desert Hot Springs, CA / Desert Hot Springs) 103 rounded out COD's participants.
College of the Desert will return to the links this Friday, September 4 as they compete in the Desert Classic.
