COD Men’s Tennis concludes the 2017 season with a defeat of the Arabs, 7-2

COD (6-12; 5-7) busted up a eight match losing streak by slamming the Imperial Valley Arabs, 7-2.

The victory concluded the regular season for the Roadrunners, who will now send individual players into the CCCAA SoCal Regionals. All Desert players in attendance won, with freshman Miguel Nolasco (Thermal Coachella Valley) taking his match into extras, falling in the first set, 1-6, then rallying back to win the next two sets, 6-4, 10-8.

Men's Tennis head coach Ken Thomas commented after the win, "Although it has been an up-and-down season, a season where injuries truly effected our overall won/lost record, it was still a very, very productive year for us."

Freshman Dimitrije Vukovic (Vancouver (BC) Morscrop Secondary), freshman Jakob Dvorken (Ridgewood, NJ), freshman Miguel Nolasco (Thermal Coachella Valley), freshman Eleazar Vazquez-Celis (Indio H.S.) and freshman Clayton Carlson (La Quinta H.S.) all grabbed Conference wins in straight sets.

Vukovic and Dvorken won their doubles match easily, 8-3 and the Vazquez-Celis and Carlson doubles match was a domination, with the Roadrunners rolling, 8-2.

Coach Thomas wrapped up his statement with, "the bottom line is that we won 300% more matches this year than last year and the guys played their hearts out. They never quit."
College of the Desert defeated Imperial Valley today 7-2, in a PCAC men's tennis dual match played at Indian Wells.
