COD Men’s Tennis opened up the 2017 season at the #1 seed in the nation, the Irvine Valley Lasers and fell, 9-0.
COD Men's Tennis opened up the 2017 season at the #1 seed in the nation, the Irvine Valley Lasers and fell, 9-0.
According to Roadrunners head coach Ken Thomas, "COD played well, we fought hard and never quit. We just ran up against a better team. We learned a lot, gained some much needed experience, and now we look forward to conference play which begins this Thursday."
The Desert #3 Doubles team of freshman Joao Luiz Zillo Prado (São Paulo, Brazil) and freshman Eleazar Vazquez-Celes (Indio H.S.) played a tough contest in taking four points away from the Lasers. Freshman Dimitrije Vukovic (Vancouver (BC) Morscrop Secondary) also played a competitive match, but fell in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-3.
COD will make their next appearance at Mt. San Jacinto on Thursday, February 16 as they begin Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play in San Jacinto.
