COD Men’s Golf: McDonald fires career low as Roadrunners claim 5th OEC victory
The College of the Desert men’s golf team made the most of its lone home conference event, earning its fifth Orange Empire Conference (OEC) victory in the last eight matches behind a standout performance from sophomore Braxton McDonald.

Competing at Bermuda Dunes Country Club, the Roadrunners placed first in the team standings with a score of 293, edging Cypress by two strokes.
McDonald (Coldstream, B.C. / Kalamalka Secondary) led the way with a career-best round of 3-under 69, capturing individual medalist honors.
Fellow sophomore Mason Montgomery (Palm Desert HS) turned in a solid 2-over 74 to finish tied for fifth, while Linus Rindestad Utter (Handen, Sweden / Fredrika Bremer Gymnasiet) and Sinjin Armstrong (La Quinta HS) each carded rounds of 3-over 75 to tie for ninth.
Logan Marra (Palm Desert HS) added a 5-over 77 to finish tied for 17th, and Phar Vincent (Xavier College Preparatory) rounded out the scoring with a 10-over 82.
The Roadrunners will return to action on Wednesday, April 22 at 2 p.m., hosting the Reedley Tigers in the "Dual in the Desert" at SilverRock Resort in La Quinta.
