COD Men’s Golf takes 2nd place in Chino
COD Men's Golf participated in their seventh Orange Empire Conference event, with a golfer snagging their second-best score of the season.
COD Men's Golf participated in their seventh Orange Empire Conference event, with a golfer snagging their second-best score of the season.
The Roadrunners sent six participants to their eleventh event of the 2025 season, continuing Orange Empire Conference play, which was hosted at the El Prado Golf Course - Butterfield Stage Course in Chino by the Mt. San Antonio Mounties. Desert would finish with 378 points, putting them in 2nd place, 7-strokes ahead of the Cypress Chargers. The event was won by the Cuyamaca Coyotes of El Cajon.
Leading the way for the Roadrunners in Chino was freshman Mason Montgomery (Palm Desert H.S.) who shot his third-best score of the season, collecting a 2-under 71, which was good enough to finish 3rd individually at the event. Freshman Sinjin Armstrong (La Quinta H.S.) and sophomore Jacob Stacey (Twentynine Palms H.S.) both shot a 4-over 76. Freshman Linus Rindestad Utter (Handen (SWE) Fredrika Bremergymnasiet) shot a 5-over 77 and Logan Marra (Palm Desert H.S.) with is second-best low score of the season, shooting a 6-over 78. Wrapping up the afternoon for the Roadrunners was an 8-over 80 by freshman Phar Vincent (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep).
The next match for the Roadrunners will be on April 7 at 12p, where they will continue Orange Empire Conference play by traveling to Steele Canyon Golf Course in Jamul and hosted by the Cuyamaca Coyotes of El Cajon.
