COD Men’s Golf finishes 2nd at Mission Hills, Adams takes 1st overall

COD Men's Golf had freshman Gauthier Adams (Liège, Belgium) snag a medal as the top individual finisher and the Roadrunners grabbed a second place finish in their fifth Pacific Coast Athletic Conference event, hosted at the par-72 Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage.

All five PCAC schools participated in the tournament, which was won by Palomar.

Adams had one of his best outings of the season, shooting a one-over par 73. Freshman Matt Schmitt (Brawley H.S.) hit a four-over 76 good enough to finish second on the team. Freshman Vinny Vetrano (La Quinta H.S.) and freshman Sam Berglund (Melbourne, Australia) both shot a five-over 77 on the afternoon.

Sophomore Nicolas Beeken (Liège, Belgium) had a six-over 78 and freshman Maxime Faure (Deauville, France) wrapped up the afternoon shooting a 79. It was the first match of the 2017 season for Faure.

COD will make their next appearance at Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos on Wednesday, March 29th as they continue Pacific Coast Conference play.
