COD Men’s Golf finishes 2nd at Soboba

COD Men's Golf had three golfers finishing four strokes back of the leader as the Roadrunners grabbed a second place finish in their fourth Pacific Coast Athletic Conference event, hosted at the par-72 The Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto.

All five PCAC schools participated in the tournament, which was won by Mt. San Jacinto.

Freshman Matt Schmitt (Brawley H.S.) hit one above his normal average of a 74, but still led the team with a three-over par 75. Freshman Gauthier Adams (Liège, Belgium) and freshman Sam Berglund (Melbourne, Australia) also shot a three-over 75, finishing tied for 4th on the afternoon.

Sophomore Nicolas Beeken (Liège, Belgium) and sophomore Marc Cohen (Livry Gargan, France) both hit a seven-over 79. Freshman Steven Wang (Taipei, Taiwan) wrapped up the afternoon shooting an 80.

It was the first match of the 2017 season for Cohen and Wang.

COD will make their next appearance at El Camino Country Club in Oceanside on Monday, March 20th as they participate in the SoCal Preview.
