The College of the Desert baseball team continues to make history.
Following Inland Empire Athletic Conference series victories over San Bernardino Valley and Cerro Coso, along with a three-game sweep of Mt. San Jacinto, the Roadrunners (14–4) have climbed to No. 20 in the latest California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (3CBCA) State Poll, marking one of the highest rankings in program history.

The ranking follows a dominant conference series against Mt. San Jacinto, a matchup that carried added intensity as both programs battled for position near the top of the conference standings.
The Roadrunners completed the three-game sweep to improve to 7–1 in IEAC play, highlighted by a dramatic 6–5 walk-off victory in the middle game of the series.
Freshman outfielder Kaden Prosofsky, from Bishop James Mahoney High School in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, delivered a standout week at the plate. Prosofsky went 7-for-13 with two doubles, two home runs, and eight RBIs, helping power the Roadrunners through the pivotal conference matchup.
"This group has worked incredibly hard to put themselves in this position, and it's exciting to see our program reach new heights," said head coach Sam DiMatteo. "To be ranked in the Top 20 is a reflection of their commitment to getting better every day."
The Roadrunners now enter a conference bye week, providing an opportunity to face non-conference competition. College of the Desert will host Rio Hondo on March 10 in Palm Desert, marking the first meeting between the programs since 2016. COD will then head on the road for its next two games before returning to conference action. The Roadrunners resume IEAC play on St. Patrick's Day, Tuesday, March 17, when they host Victor Valley at 2 p.m. in Palm Desert.
