COD Bach Volleyball Rolls to Double Sweep Over Tigers and Vaqueros
The College of the Desert Beach Volleyball team snapped a four-match skid in emphatic fashion, sweeping both the Riverside City College Tigers and the Glendale Community College Vaqueros, 5–0 and 5–0, to improve to 5-7 on the season.

COD's dominance over Glendale continued, as the Roadrunners captured their fifth consecutive victory over the Vaqueros. In their first meeting in three seasons against Riverside City, COD also secured its third straight win over its intra-county rival.
Match One: COD 5, Glendale 0
The Roadrunners controlled the dual from start to finish.
At No. 1, sophomore Clairie Thomas (La Quinta HS) and freshman Juliette Rothe (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) set the tone with a decisive 21-9, 21-12 victory.
The No. 2 tandem of sophomore Jacqueline Leon (La Quinta HS) and freshman Sophia Kalepp (Palm Desert HS) battled through a competitive first set before winning in straight sets, 24-22, 21-17.
Freshmen Sara Hanley (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) and Nadia Malone (La Quinta HS) earned a 21-12, 21-18 win at No. 3, while the No. 4 pair of Leslie Delgado (Thermal Coachella Valley) and Amber Kardol (Palm Desert HS) secured a 21-11, 21-14 victory.
At No. 5, freshmen Isabella Rosales (Indio Shadow Hills) and Mia Castro (Palm Desert Xavier College Prep) won by walkover as Glendale did not field a fifth pair.
Match Two: COD 5, Riverside City 0
The afternoon contest against Riverside City proved far more competitive, with two courts going the distance in three-set thrillers.
The Roadrunners claimed straight-set victories at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 5, but Nos. 3 and 4 required extra work.
At No. 3, COD dropped the opening set 21-18 before rallying for a narrow 21-19 second-set win and closing strong in the third, 15-7.
The No. 4 duo took the first set comfortably, 21-12, stumbled in the second, 21-6, and regrouped to secure the deciding set, 15-10.
Up Next
The Roadrunners return home on February 20 at Palm Desert Civic Center Park to host longtime rival the Palomar College Comets, followed by a first-ever matchup with the Santiago Canyon College Hawks.
First serve is scheduled for 10 a.m.
