COD Women’s Volleyball sinks the Marauders, 3-1

COD (2-3) blasted through the first two sets against the Lancaster Antelope Valley Marauders (1-2), then had to hold on as they fell in set three, then slammed the door shut in set four winning the match, 25-14, 25-19, 15-25 and 25-19.

The Roadrunners christened their 2017 home opener in a festive way as they welcomed in former Foothill Conference foe, Antelope Valley.

Freshman setter Ashtyn Lyneis (Palm Springs H.S.) led the team with 42 assists, had 2 service aces and had 16 digs and freshman outside hitter Baylie Dashner (La Quinta H.S.) led the team with 17 kills and had 13 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter London Felder (Alta Loma H.S.) led the team with 18 digs and had 2 set assists and sophomore middle blocker Marisol Ruiz (Thermal Desert Mirage) led the team with 4 service aces and had 9 kills.

Freshman middle blocker Nicole Svoboda (La Quinta H.S.) led the team with 2 black assists and had 8 kills.

Freshman outside hitter Sydney Viliunas (Indio Shadow Hills) had 12 digs and sophomore middle blocker Chrishayla Jackson (Desert Hot Springs H.S.) led the team with 2 block assists.

The next home game for COD is when they host Victor Valley, on Wednesday, September 20, game starts at 5:30 p.m.
