COD Men’s Golf dominates at Desert Island, Adams takes 1st overall

COD Men's Golf had freshman Gauthier Adams (Liège, Belgium) snag a medal as the top individual finisher and the Roadrunners grabbed a first place finish in their seventh Pacific Coast Athletic Conference event, hosted at the par-72 Desert Island Country Club in Rancho Mirage.

COD won convincingly, soundly outpacing their nearest competitor by a whole 7-strokes, collecting the top spot for the first time since March 6th at El Dorado Park Golf Course in Long Beach.

Adams had one of his best outings of the season, shooting a one-under par 71. Sophomore Nicolas Beeken (Liège, Belgium) and freshman Sam Berglund (Melbourne, Australia) both shot a two-over 74 on the afternoon.

Both freshman Matt Schmitt (Brawley H.S.) and freshman Steven Wang (Taipei, Taiwan) shot a three-over 75. Sophomore Marc Cohen (Livry Gargan, France) wrapped up the afternoon shooting an 82. It was the third match of the 2017 season for Cohen.

COD will make their next appearance at Sycuan Golf Resort in El Cajon on Wednesday, April 12th as they continue Pacific Coast Conference play hosted by Cuyamaca College.
