COD Baseball players, Travis Tanaka, Nicholas Follett and Quinton Bidon were named All-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.

Under the tutelage of coach John Welker, in his 6th season at the helm, Desert Baseball ended their first season in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference with a record of 10-30, overall and 8-16 in Conference, finishing seventh.

On the field, sophomore catcher Travis Tanaka (Honolulu (HI) St. Louis) was named first team all-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. He finished tops on the team and 14th in Conference in batting average, hitting .366 over the course of the 40 game season. He had 16 multi-hit games on the season, with five 3 hit games and ten 2 hit games. Tanaka had his best all-around offensive game at home against Chaffey on February 14th, when he went 4 for 5 with a double and three runs scored. 

Freshman third baseman Nicholas Follett (Toronto (ON) Bishop Allen Academy) was named honorable mention all-Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. He finished second on the team in hits, with 43, and tied for the team lead in doubles with 10. Playing "the hot corner" almost every game of the 40 game season, Follett finished the season with .939 fielding percentage and was credited with turning eight double plays. At the plate, Follett had 13 multi-hit games, his best all-around offensive game was at home versus San Diego Mesa on April 18th, when he went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored. 

Also named honorable mention was freshman right handed relief pitcher Quinton Bidon (Enumclaw, WA). He had 14.0 innings pitched in nine appearances, striking out 13 batters, saving four games, ending the season with a 1-2 record and a 4.50 earned run average. Bidon, pronounced Bid-Don, concluded his 2017 season after April 15th due to injury, but still managed to finish in the top-10 on the team in batting average with a .212 average. He had five multi-hit games with his best game a 2 for 4 day at the plate, a double, a home run, three RBI's and two runs scored at Barstow on February 7th.
